Jesus the Messiah
Jesus Christ of Nazareth in Galilee, Israel, lived about 2,000 years ago as a man, the descendant of King David, as was promised in the Scriptures. At about the age of 30, he began his active ministry, walking throughout Israel and declaring the Good News. As the Bible says, he went about "doing good." The account of his life in the books written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John established Jesus as the Messiah (or Christ) the Jews were looking for. He was also identified therein as The Redeemer, The Son of Man, The Word of God, and indeed God. The things the Old Testament had declared about Jehovah, or Yahweh, were applied in the New Testament to Jesus of Nazareth. "This is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you sent forth." (John 17:3) We hope that you have come to know Jesus, and if not, that through the pages of this site and the work of the Holy Spirit, you will know him.
